THE GREEN CLOAK OF NATURE

" To me a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug."
Hellen Keller

'G' is for Green/ Greenery

From times immemorial man had a deep kinship with nature.Disturbing this relatedness means inviting his own peril.

Man, mountain, nature and sky converge to create a glorious visual narrative.

Pines studded hillside watched by the cloudy  presence of sky.

FOREST AND FLOWERS

“A cold wind was blowing from the north, and it made the trees rustle like living things.”
George R.R. Martin,

'F' is for Forest and Flowers.

We're staying in a flat, which is part of a complex built on a forested hillside.

Pictures are taken from the balcony of our flat.

The scene on a cloudy day. Below.

GREETINGS ON OUR 70TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

                                 CONGRATULATIONS!!!

With humility and overwhelming sense of pride and patriotic fervor, I salute those who passed through untold sufferings and made supreme sacrifices to attain our dream of freedom from the British rule. Though the story of our freedom struggle has been chronicled countless times yet its significance in the heart of every Indian never wanes. On this momentous occasion, I heartily felicitate all fellow Indians living in India or abroad for a bright and fulfilling future.

Here friends, I'm sharing with you some of the photographs, which i took while watching the independence day celebrations on TV at the Red Fort Delhi. The images are not very good but they are part of a symbolism which is unique and sacred to us all Indians.

CUCKOO PAYS A VISIT

Early morning today, I's preparing tea in the kitchen and saw through the window the cuckoo perched on a pillar all relaxed in a meditating pose. Clicked.

It sensed my presence and was readying to fly away and i clicked. Though, as i moved in it stayed there for quite some time.

MOUNTAINS ENTRAPPED

'E' is for 'Entrap'.

It rained the whole night. Sweet, steady, musical  tip tap. Woke up to a grayish sky with mountaintops entrapped in misty clouds. Below.

A conceptual take to escape various entrapments of life in a haiku.

"Haiku" is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Haiku poems consist of 3 lines. The first and last lines of a Haiku have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables.

                                                         Haiku

                                               Embrace songs of life.

                                               Romanticize hurts, fears, doubts.

                                               Weave treasures within.

FRIENDLY-FILL-INS: WEEK-13

This is an exciting meme, where I'm supposed to complete  four given statements. The whole exercise inspires one to think and come up with  new ideas to fill up the blanks. Below are four statements, which I've completed. The given words are in bold letters and are underlined ....

 1. I am most proud of the fact that I’s brought up in an atmosphere where my parents saw to it that I strictly follow a value system, (which they practiced themselves) to steer my life in the right direction. Honestly, the significant things, which they taught me, helped me to overcome calmly many testing situations during different stages of my life.

2. I am embarrassed to admit that though I’m largely a disciplined person yet sometimes I miss abiding by my own resolutions about tackling certain issues in life. However, I feel it is okay, as we’re humans after all.

3. My super power might be (for me it’s not might be) that I had  time management skills- be it in professional or personal life. My visualization ability (God given) enabled me to organize events during my social and professional  life without any goof ups. Being a keen observant of people and places, I had remained a confident and independent person, who never felt the need to be part of herd mentality.

4. I really wish I could possess strong will power to prioritize things better, which matter most to me. However, to be honest, at this stage of life, when I’m so to say a free bird, I just flow with life.
