OUR WORLD TUESDAY

NEEM HAS MEDICINAL PROPERTIES

THE NEEM STANDS TALL

This Neem tree is growing outside the boundary wall of our house. I captured it from our front  lawn. Though there is a sporadic shedding of leaves by many deciduous  trees, our Neem refuses to adhere to the natural norm. Its leaves  still look green and bright in the early morning sun light. It only shows signs of change in extreme winter. It is a hardy tree. Its leaves and fruit are used extensively in Ayurveda. Its leaves and bark have powerful germicidal properties. It also cleanses the air by absorbing  the harmful elements and other pollutants in the air.

Friends,welcome here!

I always admire trees... occasionally indulging in 'if only they could talk'! This one is like a sentinel for your yard! YAM xx

  2. The neem capture is lovely and i am so enticed by the balcony of the house. You have a lovely house reminded me of my childhood in Gujrat Uppalji.

  4. In our previous house we also had a Neem tree in front of the house and people also believe it as auspicial and mom does puja during Fridays. Neem tree also have the ability to convert hot air into cool breeze. In old days people used the neems sticks to brush teeth.

You got a beautiful shot here and i also liked the part of your house :)

    1. Thanks Jeevan, i forgot to mention the Neem stick for cleaning the teeth. Even now in villages people vouch for its efficacy in treating skin ailments. Boil neem leaves in water. Sieve. apply it on your scalp with your finger tips. Shampoo hair after an hour. Your dandruff will vanish after few such efforts!
