A boulevard type look of the entrance to the newly established University at a holy town, which we recently visited

My archives lent a helping hand in sharing this sky view. Captured at Philadelphia (PA) in the US in 2013 during our visit there. It is the backyard of the house from where i took the picture.

SKY WATCH AND A FENCE.

The  last leg of the sun, heading towards setting, behind the trees far far away. The shot taken while in the moving car on the Chandigarh-Rajpura Highway.

The wheat sowing season is in full swing in Punjab these days. The sprouts of the early variety have been visible for some days now, as the vast spread of the wheat fields show here.
The illusion of the sky meeting the earth remains ever so fascinating.

SKY VIEW AND FENCES

Indian Bloggers

These words reflect my feelings about the magic above us!!!

The sky view (above) one of my favorites is taken from my archives, when I's visiting the US in 2013.

The house having a clean neat look presents a graceful gate and I found it worth capturing.

The fence around a public park in a nearby complex, where I often go for getting some good shots.

OUTDOOR FORAYS

While foraging my archives, I hit upon this capture, as the right one for 'Good Fences.'
In the midst of a pleasant drizzle, I caught the thin streak of water flowing through the spout from the roof shelter of the balcony.( From my hill series.)

SKY WATCH FRIDAY AND TWIN GATES

The scene captured during my morning walk!

Twin gates  of the houses on the outer road of our community. The residents of  these houses have an advantage as they overlook a beautiful park, where i often go for a walk.

This sky watch refers to the cloudy weather conditions, prevailing more than a fortnight back, when monsoon rains were on the last leg of their tour for the season!

SKY WATCH AND GOOD FENCES

The gate represents one of the two entries to a well established religious sect (Radha Saomi) with branches all over the state of Punjab. It leads to a sprawling open space grown with healthy, well maintained trees, bushes and sundry plants. All are looked after by the devotees. They hold congregation on a fixed day of the week, which is always attended by the followers in strength. Its main center is based at 'Beas', another town in Punjab. One thing which is impressive about this sect is that its followers abstain from eating non vegetarian food and consuming alcohol. I think this to be social service worth appreciating.

After dry, humid and perspiring fortnight, we were blessed by rain Gods for two consecutive days that brought down the temperature and a chance to venture out for a comfortable walk.  The images of the cloudy sky above and below were captured during  a cool lull.

In the 'Urban Estate' where we live, people having corner houses are allowed to have two gates. One in the front of the house and a smaller one on the side road which opens on the back of the house. Here is the side gate of the corner house in our neighborhood.

Watched the clear blue sky over the Neem trees lining the divider of the double road entry to our community.

MINI SNAPSHOTS- GOOD FENCES AND SKYWATCH

This post is part of: Good Fences, Sky Watch

This picture is taken at a cottage in Dagshai, which is owned by one of our friends. Here is my friend and her niece posing for me.

A small space is ensconced as a balcony with a swing and a small  improvised fountain, where water is circulated all the time. The terrace overlooks splendid scenic mountainside.

The view of the cemetery. Google image.
Dagshai has military cantonment originally established by the British rulers, because of its cool climes and picturesque beauty. It is situated at an altitude of 6000 feet. A Roman Catholic Church was built by the British here, which is still there. There is an old cemetery overlooking the lovely valley. It is said that many British soldiers are buried here. It is a tourist place because of its history and natural beauty, which has been saved from the real estate Sharks by enacting strategic regulations.
It is about 5 km uphill from Kumarhatti. It is famous for its level walks and magnificent valley views.

It has a considerable population of monkeys though.

SKYWATCH AND GOOD FENCES

After three  months of idyllic stay in the lustrous green and salubrious lap of Shivalik hills, I'm back at my hometown Patiala. That explains my absence from the cyberspace for a week. The weather in the plains is still hot, humid and stifling. The business of restarting the home front is challenging to say the least. The body barks at adjusting to the suffocating temperature. How true it is that one can't have the cake and eat it too!

The red flowers blooming in one of the parks in our community at Patiala. The yellow painted fence protects it from stray animals and unruly children.

The small gate above a staircase of one of the flats at Kumarhatti.

SKY WATCH AND GOOD FENCES

Part of my hill series:

Monsoon rains are fully active  here these days. It rains almost every day. The earth is all agog with lustrous green freshness. The surroundings seem to be decked with resurgent vegetation of all types.

A partial view of  the chain fence which encircles the lawn of our complex. On the left  outside the fence there is a mound of earth overgrown with sundry flora. Some lanky pines seem to take care of the activities around.

Iron railing around a small area below our unit overlooking the valley dense with fresh green pines.

Monsoon clouds trying to lay seize on the  canopy of the blue skyline.

Shot taken by looking up straight from the lawn. The  sky displaying thick rain filled clouds,is sort of sandwiched between tree tops.
