FASCINATING CLOUDY FORMATIONS

"The best thing one can do when it is raining is to let it rain."
Henry Wordsworth Longfellow

We're putting up amidst Shiwalik hills these days. Here the rainy season is in full swing. It rained torrentially yesterday. Extensive landslides together with the uprooting of trees happened. The authorities are doing their utmost to provide relief to the affected.

One is helpless in the face of nature's fury. Yet life moves on!

Pictures ( below) taken during the week of multiple vignettes of the monsoon skyline!

F is for Fascinating:

The thick clouds are barring the sun from making its appearance. Yet cleverly the sun wriggles out now and then to spread its brilliance. Clicked early morning today!

The hills engulfed with mist after a generous bout of showers.

Friends welcome here as always!

  4. Lovely capture on the monsoon sky and mist wrapping around mountains! The monsoon is at peak in south, and down pouring across Western Ghats submerged the Kerala’s most districts and banks of Cauvery River. Very sorry to see people and wildlife suffering and lot of water running into the sea without proper management.

  7. Great skies. I've been reading about your terrible monsoon this year. We get a monsoon where I live, but it only results in afternoon thunderstorms.

  9. Beautiful series and I am pleased that I am not the only cloud watcher. I remember my sister and I lying on our backs and looking at the clouds and telling each other what we saw in them..animals or whatever... long time ago... Michelle

  10. Radiant combinations of the sky, clouds and hillsides. Landslides are an unfortunate example of too much of a good thing - we would like more rain here, but not that much! Thanks for your recent visit to my blog.
