CAMERA CRITTERS

 LONESOME

The lonely bird I photographed from inside the room through the window pane. That is why the picture is a bit blurred. It's perched on the railing. I's sure if I'd go out it'd fly away.

SKY WATCH FRIDAY

TOWERING PURE BLUE SKY

For  'Sky Watch Friday' I's desiring to post a brand new picture. I couldn't manage it during the week. Today I postponed my outing for the afternoon and went for a round of the area. However, didn't find what i wanted. Then  I ventured further and strolled  on the double  roads at the entry to two  Urban estates. All the time looking for something that should satisfy me.

This is the outcome of my search. The tall structure in the foreground is the local radio station transmission tower.

Clicked this picture at about 3pm.

CUPID'S ARROWS

God had been expressly kind to her. Younger of the two siblings, she was the chosen one for her parents. Born to highly educated and professionals parents, she enjoyed all a teen-ager could aspire for.   Rather her parents pampered her, partly because of her exceptional looks and other accomplishments. Her physical assets and comely bearing drew people towards her. She was tall and voluptuous. It was her radiant complexion with the rosy moons on her cheeks, which sparkled when she smiled, enhancing the allure of her personality. Not that she lagged behind in academics. She was pursuing a degree course in computer engineering and was regarded a better student.

However, cupid’s arrows had already stung her. She, of course, was conscious of the accepted social conventions. However, it was beyond her control. No doubt, she had capable and wonderful boys in her class, who were ready to eat out of her hands. Some of them actually tried to woo her. Strange enough, she never threw a glance at them. So was her dignified demeanor that none dared to intrude her privacy. On friendship day, she would receive the maximum greeting cards, which she accepted rather indifferently. Her mind had a pivot point, which she guarded meticulously.

For her love, she was generously willing to smile her rosy smile. Only a few words passed between them, when she passed that way, but love sparks flew passionately.

He was a young man of about twenty-five or so, of medium height, good physique and average complexion. In fact, in looks, he stood no chance. However, he had character.

He belonged to a well to do family of business people. Seeing that their son did not desire to go for higher education, they inducted him into family computer business, after a short period of apprenticeship. It’s in their show room that she met him for the first time. She was hooked in the very first meeting. Their relationship grew overtime. It came to be steadfast like a rock. It reached the stage, when he would wait for her arrival from the college at vantage point to exchange pleasantries.

It was then that her parents got wind of her liaison. They were naturally dumb struck.  Wisely, they did not question her. Gauging her inclination towards matrimony even before completing her course, they arranged her meeting with the promising son of a family known to them. She did not even feign interest in him. Then her parents cautiously tried to acquaint her about the unsuitability of her choice. They cited the boy’s much lower educational qualifications and a different caste. They put other pressures, watched her movements. They remained incommunicado with her for days.

When all failed, they made the girl promise that they would agree to the match if she waited until the completion of her degree. In the meantime, they asked her to desist seeing him. They thought that perhaps all these measures might wean her away. They hoped that better sense might prevail in the end. However, such flames the magical cupid’s arrows kindle that any sense takes to wings.

The latest I heard was that both the families  agreed to solemnize  their union.

Hoping that they lived happily ever after!

 TODAY'S THEME IS:

"MINIMAL" (Photography or things that are simple,...)GRACE IN SIMPLICITY

Patch of lilies which give red flowers in early September, growing in the area across our boundary wall, which i maintain. The birdy busy in grub picking.

This (above) bed of mint is a part of my  tiny herbal garden in the backyard. I grow Tulsi( a medicinal plant) Coriander (its leaves finally chopped, are used for flavoring our cooked vegetables) and Fenugreek.   We, here, prepare chutney of mint and coriander leaves as a dip for snacks. Fenugreek leaves( methi) remain my all time favorite for making stuffed rotis in winter. It is heart healthy seasonal, green vegetable, extensively used  in winters.
Friends, how do you like my simple things?

A WOMAN'S PLEA

'U' IS FOR UMBRAGE

Don’t take umbrage:

At the passion of the crazy, lovers knot,

For, soon, the fantasy would turn to naught.

Don’t take umbrage:

At the lassie, for, tearing the gender shackled walls,

Keep her free will afloat, lest she untimely falls.

Don’t take umbrage:

Darling, at her nonchalant expressions,

Remember thy muddy childish impressions.

Don’t take umbrage:

Darling, at lending your ear to life’s inanities,

Who made you the king will deflate your vanities.

....
O man! Have you ever minutely thought?

What care, respect and concern can wrought?

That would set in motion,

A saga of perennial devotion!

.....

A LUXURIOUS SPREAD

OUR WORLD TUESDAY

This is the variety of Chrysanthemums, which i brought from the hills. Their they bloom in early October, a month ahead of ours, at Patiala. In Chandigarh the authorities organize Chrysanthemum festival every year, where different varieties are displayed by individual residents and also by gardeners employed to look after the yards by corporations etc. It is largely attended by enthusiasts and general public.

LOVE WINS

MAGPIE TALE-5          A SACRED BOND
Bond of union,1956 by M.C. Escher

Looks to be a determined but deeply serious  couple, in the mood of  concentrated contemplation. Their was a reason behind this expressive but calm thoughtfulness. The scenario which stared them in the face was unexpected. It was too soon after marriage, that a worrying issue cropped up. They had to cut short their honeymoon even. But their resoluteness  to discharge their  family commitments was never a second option. It was imbibed  as a first priority since long, for both of them.

During their courtship which  lasted many months, they were aware that their lives would be bound by certain responsibilities. But such was their trust  and affection for each other that they did not waver a bit before tying the knot. In fact they always felt that they were bound to each other by a strong bond of understanding and love, which can never fall apart. They fervently believed in the grace of God, which united them in matrimony.

The catastrophe, which befell on their tender shoulders was the sudden illness of the boy's father. He needed immediate hospitalization, which entailed huge amount of money and care. Though both of them had jobs but they were moderately paid  and they had little savings. The situation also demanded that, one of them  would have to leave the job to take care of the old man. His mother had died, when he was  a young boy. It was his father who supported and guided him in those impressionable teen years. He had no regrets.

Undoubtedly, he was very attached to his father. His sweetheart  too had enjoyed his father's loving interest in her on her occasional visits to his house. She was his classmate and understood his preferences pretty well.

The kindhearted and sensible couple took a major decision. The husband decided to look for a second job. While she requested her employer to let her work from home, citing her pressing circumstances. The adorable duo did manage to overcome the strains of the situation boldly and successfully.

The loving and SACRED bond between them went from strength to strength in all their future endeavors!
